Beautiful antique copper lustreware miniature pitcher, believed to be English and likely dating to the mid-19th-century Victorian period. This small decorative jug has a wonderfully reflective copper lustre decoration with hand-painted colored accents, along with a molded diamond/lozenge pattern around the upper body. The lower portion is decorated with colorful hand-painted floral and foliate details in turquoise, yellow, lavender, and other colors. An unusually graceful applied handle and shaped pouring spout add to its character. The pitcher is unmarked, as is common with many antique English lustreware pieces, so the maker cannot be confirmed. I have found no chips, cracks, or repairs. The lustre and hand-painted decoration show minor irregularities and signs of age consistent with an antique piece.
