An authentic souvenir letter opener from the 1901 Pan-American Exposition held in Buffalo, New York. Crafted from cast brass or bronze, this piece features a detailed standing bison/buffalo figure atop the handle stem, symbolic of the host city. One side of the blade reads "PAN-AMERICAN" with decorative scroll accents, while the reverse side features "1901.". The metal exhibits a warm aged patina with rich dark highlights in the recessed areas. A wonderful addition for collectors of World's Fair memorabilia, Buffalo NY history, or antique desk accessories.
