Description
This is a highly collectible antique "ERIE" No. 10 cast iron skillet, manufactured by the Griswold Manufacturing Company of Erie, Pennsylvania. Featuring the distinctive "ERIE" mark in quotation marks on the bottom, this piece is characteristic of the 3rd series production, dating approximately between 1892 and 1905.
The skillet features a size 10 marking on the bottom, dual pour spouts, and a classic reinforced handle with a teardrop hanging hole. The interior cooking surface is remarkably smooth, a testament to the high-quality casting of the era.
It is in very good antique condition with a dark seasoned finish. There is some minor surface wear, light carbon buildup, and typical discoloration on the exterior bottom as shown in the photos, but no visible cracks or major pitting. Perfect for both active kitchen use and display in a vintage kitchenware collection.
