Beautiful antique German porcelain decorative tray attributed to Carl Tielsch & Co., Altwasser, dating to approximately the late 19th to early 20th century. This exceptionally ornate piece features a soft pink shaded ground surrounded by elaborate white molded Rococo-style scrollwork, leaves and pierced or reticulated sections. Extensive hand-applied gold detailing highlights the raised decoration. The center is decorated with delicate sprays of blue and purple flowers and foliage, accented with intricate gold flower centers and small raised gold details. The underside is unmarked. Based on the form, reticulated construction, Rococo molding, dimensions and decorative treatment, the piece is attributed to Carl Tielsch & Co. of Altwasser, Germany. Because no factory mark is present, the attribution cannot be confirmed. Approximate measurements: 12 3/4" long 8" wide 2 1/4" high Condition: Very good antique condition. The gilding shows age-related wear, particularly on some of the raised molded decoration, as shown in the photographs.
