This antique cast brass relief plaque features a rich, detailed depiction of a Colonial revival hearth scene. The framed relief depicts two women in traditional bonnets seated near an open fireplace with hanging kettles, a resting cat, a spinning wheel, and various pottery and tableware arranged on the mantel shelf above. The back of the plaque is fitted with an easel-style triangular stand clearly embossed with 'W.D. ALLEN MFG. CO. CHICAGO, U.S.A.' The brass exhibits an attractive natural patina with light oxidation highlights that accentuate the dimensional detail of the casting. A fine collectible metalware piece suitable for tabletop or shelf display in rustic, early American, or Arts & Crafts decor settings.
