This is a nice clean antique 3/8" wide x 9.0" long tanged flat carving chisel marked "W. BUTCHER CAST STEEL" on the steel. The steel length alone is 3.5". It came with a group of 19th century English chisels that I purchased together, with the British export symbols also marked on the steel opposite the maker's mark (a circle logo with a arrow with the point, pointing at an + shaped symbol). Nice quality cast steel, good solid hardwood handle, sharp and ready to use.
