I purchased this brooch in the 1980s at an antique fair in England. It has a gold surround which I believe to be 9CT. The Roman/Greek God is winged and full figure and is incredibly detailed. I added the safety pin chain to it as the clasp is C clasp and there are a couple of hair like cracks in the back, which can be seen when it is held up to the light...they do not go through to the front of the brooch. It is 2 1/4 inches long and 1 5/8 inches wide.
