Beautiful antique Coiffe & Cie Limoges France porcelain plate, dating to approximately 1891–1914, richly hand painted with large yellow roses accented by pink centers, foliage, and an atmospheric shaded background. The floral decoration is exceptionally detailed, with soft variations of yellow, green, lavender, blue-gray, brown, and pink. A wide gold-trimmed rim with raised beaded detailing provides an elegant finishing touch. The painting is artist signed near the rim. The signature is partially legible and appears to begin “N.A. Sch…”; I have not been able to positively identify the artist. The reverse bears the Coiffe & Cie Limoges France mark, identifying the French porcelain blank. There is a narrow area of gold loss along the outer rim measuring approximately 1/2 inch, shown clearly in the photographs. The close-up photograph makes this area appear larger than it actually is; it is subtle enough that I did not notice it initially. Otherwise, the gilding and hand-painted decoration display beautifully. Please review all photographs as part of the condition description.
