Gold and Black Elgin American Powder Compact purchased 25 years ago at an antique sale from the elderly lady who originally owned it. There is a silver liberty dime taped inside it on the mirror she told me her father had insisted she carry (the dime) for a telephone call if she needed a ride home. I left the dime inside the compact as it was hers. Unfortunately I dropped the compact from my bathroom vanity, and the inner mirror cracked. (Aaaargh!!) Original powder inside the compact has beautiful gold ferns and flowers on it back is black emnamel The puff inside is very worn, but I could not bring myself to throw it away. It has a gold pouch with it (probably why it slid out of the vanity)
