This is a nice clean antique .25" x 8.7" long tanged firmer chisel, marked "D.R. Barton" on the steel. This one has a very nicely turned hardwood handle and a good brass ferrule. The old handle does have one split in it, but it is very solid, and the ferrule keeps if from splitting further. A good quality chisel by a well known American tool maker!
