Fenton Art Glass Basket Junior Thompson Crimped Ruffled Edge. This item was hand painted in a beautiful white with grey floral with gold trim. This basket's handle has the handler mark of Junior Thompson. Attaching basket handles requires a great deal of skill. There's less than 30 seconds to attach and shape a handle before the glass cools down and is no longer workable. ( Please note: In the 1950s, company President Frank M. Fenton and his brother Bill Fenton, Vice-President, decided that each Fenton basket handler should have a distinctive mark so collectors could identify the artisan who created their basket. These marks are impressed at the base of each side of the basket handle). This basket is beautiful Height 7 1/4 inch. Length across side rim to side rim 5 inch X Width across edge handle to opposite handle 4 inch. No chips or cracks. Paint in excellent condition. Not signed. Marked Fenton on bottom.
