This is a very nice pad saw with a cocobolo handle and nicely turned brass saw holder section with steel screws to hold the blade in place. The blade slot goes completely through the handle and so the exit can be seen on the other end, this allows for chucking the saw blade short when not needed to avoid bending the blade, and preventing damage while the tool is in storage. This tool can handle saw stock up to .50" wide. The handle is neatly marked several times "J. SIDEBOTTOM". I do not know whether this is an owner's name or a maker's name.
