This colorfully illustrated 3 ¼ X 3 ½ inch invitation is nicely printed on heavy card stock and offers attendance to the 1889 MILITARY DRILL & BALL of the Abner Coburn Cadets of Orino, Maine. (Named for the Civil War era Maine Governor Cobern). The little piece of ephemera remains in excellent condition and bears the name of it’s original recipient John Bird Jr. who’s father, John Sr., served in the Civil War as a Pvt. of Co F, 23rd Maine Volunteer Infantry. A neat little piece of Americana that will be of special interest to the post Civil War militia enthusiast and state of Maine collector.
