The brooch is signed Sterling Made in Mexico and the letter M There is an eagle mark on it also. On the Brooch there are 3 Aquamarine colored blue stones each one is 3ct. The brooch is 2 1/2 inches long and 1 3/8 inches wide. The earrrings are 1 1/2 inches long, and the aqua stone is also 3 cts. Melendez was an apprentice for Spratling and later joined Los Castillo. He ended up becoming workshop manager for Margot at her shop. His pieces are a mix of classical Mexican silver design, as well as modernist
