Marked "YANKEE NO. 31 NORTH BROTHERS MFG. CO. PHILA. PA. MADE IN U.S.A PAT APR.16.95-NOV.2.97-SEPT.5.99-OCT.9.00-NOV.3.08" This is the middle size of the three models offered in the 1923 era, it is slightly shorter than the previous patented version. This one measures 17" long fully extended with no removable tip in the chuck, and 11 1/4" long in the closed and locked position), offered with one No. 2 Phillips hex bit. You can buy other hex bits at most any hardware or tool store. In very good working condition. There is wear on the handle, some small dings noted, no cracks, the handle fits tightly to the tool. The exterior of the main shaft is nickel plated, about 90% intact, some very minor dings and scratches noted on the metal. Some Yankee screwdrivers are spring loaded in the spiral section, (quick return), this one does not, as per factory design, and works fine (the rapid return in this size is No. 131A, and we generally have them in stock). You can use this screwdriver with or without spiral or ratchet, using the adjustment settings on the main shaft. This is a nice clean old one!
