This is a nice sharp older socket framing chisel marked "OHIO TOOL CO." and the owner's intials "CDJ" near by. This is one of Ohio tools' best made chisel, offered in good condition ready to work. It is 15.5" long overall x 1.5 wide cutting edge, 12.0 long steel only. The handle is solid with the iron end ring a little beat up, but it did the job over the years and will continue under normal use. It appears the handle was hit with a metal hammer at one time, if a wood mallet was used the iron ring and the handle would be in much nicer shape. I have several mallets for chisel work availiable, please check my other listing if you need one. A nice solid chisel with only minor pitting and dings (none that will effect the cutting edge) and some staining. A quality tool!
