A viewer tells us that this is a Beautiful and really old Chinese fingernail guard that has been converted into a Brooch with a pin on the back. It is hard to describe this brooch/pin except to say it is gold vermeil over silver, and there are large green and dark red stones bezel set on it, and each side is enammed with beautiful oriental flowers and scrolls. The top of the pin is hollow,(where the finger was placed)and couild be used for a flower???. The back of the top is marked Silver. The pin has a lock. It is 3 1/2 inches long, and the widest part at the top is 3/4 of an inch.
