This is a clean 19th century pad-saw that measures 8.5" long without the blade. The handle is made of boxwood and brass, with steel screws to hold the steel saw blade in place. There is two name impressed on the handle, one I believe to be the maker "J. DUCKWORTH BOLTON", the other most likely an owner's name "G. MOSS". The saw blade is adjustable to the amount the user desires to have extended from the handle up to about 6". Like most narrow 19th century saw blades, this one is not perfectly straight, but useable if so desired. The wood, and brass is beautiful, nicely polished and the pride of the past owner's collection!
