Description
This beautiful porcelain cabinet charger plate features a classic Angelica Kaufmann signed transfer print. This piece has no chips or cracks. Manufacturing anomalies may exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.
Backstamp: orange Victoria Austria crown.
Kauffmann, a Swiss artist worked primarily in a neo-classical style. Many artist coppied her original paintings and used them on porcelains during the 19th and 20th century. This large charger has transfers having Putti (cupids) and with partial nude maidens. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks or hairlines. There is age wear to the gold gilt rim. The back has a copper wire hanger tie that threads thru two holes in the rim for display and it has a Signature in the left side.
