This is a top quality English made carving chisel marked "S. J. Addis CAST STEEL 5" on the steel shank. It is 5/16" wide at the cutting edge, and 9.3" long overall. It has a mild or flat sweep or arc in regards to the type of gouge, as it is almost flat in shape, sharp and ready to use, some very minor pitting noted in a few small spots. It has a good solid, 8 sided English tanged type handle, that fits well and looks nice. A very nice, hard to find chisel overall, by a well known edge tool maker!
