This is a nice quality steel heavy duty .50" (1/2") wide socket firmer chisel marked "SAMSON" on the steel. It is 11.5" long overall, not rust or pitting, some darkening of the polished steel finish, very sharp, ready to use. This chisel is top quality steel, the cutting edge area is in very good shape, a few tiny areas of minor dings (not near the cutting edge), no cracks, straight, not bent, flat on the bottom. The handle is in good solid condition and appears to be ash, very solid, clean, fits good.  Samson is the trade name for UNION HARDWARE COMPANY TORRINGTON CONN. U.S.A..
