Description
This original postcard is from the 1933 Century Of Progress (Chicago World's Fair) which was held in Chicago. It is in excellent condition and the front features the "The Lincoln Group, Chicago World's Fair". The reverse side features a postcard format, which is unused and a paragraph that says "This group consists of five buildings, each of which marks an epoch in the upward struggle of Abraham Lincoln. The small, one-room cabin near Hodgenville, Ky where he was born. His second home on Pigeon Creek, Ind. The little general store in Salem. Ill. Rutledge Tavern, where he wooed and won Ann Rutledge & where she died. Lastly, the Wigwam in Chicago, where he was elected a candidate for the Presidency. All but the Wigwam are actual reproductions in size and furnishings. The Wigwam is a miniaturequot; and measures approx. 5 1/2" x 3 1/2".
