Beautiful late-Victorian British Brown Transferware Cake and Pastry Serving Set, 9pc. 1 Cake platter and 8 cake plates. The pattern features stylized Chrysanthemums (mums) and foliage, with geometric lattice trim with gold trim on the rims. Registration design RN. No. 79771 stamped on the undersides denotes a specific British Officially Registered Design Number, which was officially registered in 1887. This places the exact year the design was protected and manufactured right at the height of the Victorian aesthetic movement. Condition. Cake Platter No chips, No cracks. Has some yellow staining. Just as shown in pictures. Condition 7" Cake plates. 4 do not have and chips or cracks, but has your usual black marks and a few have spurs on the rims. 2 plates have spurs and questionable flicks and 2 have obvious chips on the rim.
