Vintage African American Composition Doll cloth body. 12 1/2 inch tall. He has a composition head and shoulder plate with a cloth filled body. He has been modernized with modern clothing, which as been sewn onto him meaning, you cannot remove them without un sewing them to remove them. I cannot locate any markings on this doll as far as you can see to his clothing. I have seen similar facial paintings, particularly the eye lashes on foreign dolls from the 1940s. Maker and doll name unknown to me. He is wearing a heart motif cotton shirt with blue and tan pin striped overalls with a matching bow tie. No shoes. He has lovely painted facial features, which I feel is original. He has some paint wear on his head, forehead and nose, just as pictures. A unique doll. Please ask any questions.
