Description

Up for sale is a wonderfully unique, authentic piece of vintage pre-war Japanese novelty ceramics. This Art Deco lidded vanity or tobacco box features a stylized 1920s/1930s Flapper Girl with a bold black bob, classic green eyeshadow, and molded drop earrings. Her stylized open mouth forms a functional port, historically used to dispense a single cigarette or hold matches/toothpicks. Markings: Stamped "MADE IN JAPAN" on the unglazed base. Measurements: * Length: Approx. 4.5 inches * Height: Approx. 2 inches tall when closed Condition Report: * The Lid: Excellent condition. Vibrant paint, no chips, and beautiful, authentic all-over glaze crazing appropriate for a piece nearly a century old. * The Base: Features a clean interior and a clear bottom stamp. Note: There is a vertical hairline crack on the back of the base piece. It remains structurally sound and displays beautifully, but is priced accordingly for this flaw. No other chips or major repairs detected. Please review all photos carefully as they serve as the primary description of condition.
