War rations book dated 1942 with four sets still remaining with lots of stamps. The booklet was issued to the Lennon family of Lebanon N.H. at the time. They were a great family and the numbers to the sets found were 200315, 16, 17 and 18. A rare set to find and notation of the family they had belonged to plus the holder is from Roberts Drugs Store in Concord N H. A war ration book was a booklet of stamps issued by the U.S. Office of Price Administration (OPA) during World War II to control the distribution of scarce goods like sugar, gasoline, meat, and coffee, ensuring fair access for everyone by limiting purchases to prevent hoarding and prioritize war materials. Each numbered book contained specific stamps for different items, with color-coded stamps for foods, for meat, for processed foods) and others for fuel, requiring citizens to surrender stamps with cash to buy rationed items.
