I received this slate as a gift in 1975.  This slate was obtained from the old building in the Vieux Carre' in New Orleans.  The slates were brought over to New Orleans by barges from Penn. down the Ohio and Miss. rivers when these buildings were being built.  Slate is 5" X 6" and still has the original label and the story of the slate on the back.  Has a leather hanger which gives it the rustic look.  The left upper corner is loose, but can be glued back.  Otherwise in Excellent shape.
