This is a good clean 8" monkey wrench marked "Coes Wrench Co. Worcester Mass. I. COES PAT'D DEC. 15 1881 APR 30 1885". Note the style of the split wood handle on this one! It was later changed to have a thin center strip of metal running the lenghth. This one the wood handle pieces touch directly together. This one is in good working condition with some minor staining and light pitting on about 15% of the metal surfaces. The jaws have a few burrs and a few small file marks. Patent date is a bit hard to read. The wood handle is very solid with a few minor dings. Overall condition, good to good+.
