Cookies Cookie House Cookie Jar Royal Sealy Japan. Unmarked. Says Cookies on front over door. Awesome colors. Just as found condition noted below. Height 9 1/4 inch X Length side to side 6 3/4 inch X Width front to back 5 3/4 inch. The lid has a hairline crack in area of corner missing some paint it is 3/4 of an inch from the corner on the side. Its from the rim up side and across top 1 3/4 inch long on roof top. Inside lid the cracks goes 2 inches then turns and goes another 1 1/2 inch. The inside rim lip across one side is broken off. This might have been caused by air pocket in mold. I have never seen this on a lid in 35 years of buying and selling cookie jars. There is a hairline crack going up the side of roof in this same location on one of the end break points its 3/4 of an inch that also has a chip on the roof side. of coarse some of the cold paint is missing as seen in pictures. The bottom of jar has paint wear and a chip on bottom right corner. A chip on the backside near rim in the middle area of jar. There is a chip on the rim and hairline near back left corner that is visible inside of jar only and goes down 3/4 of an inch. There is crazing. Of coarse there is paint wear around the jar. This sounds horrible, but actually displays fantastic. I just describe as is, accurately. This jar is cold painted. No glaze over the paint. Unfortunately, old paint washes off easily. Best to clean with a damp cloth only and gently wipe. A unique jar in overall pretty good shape for a cookie jar 60 years of age. Awesome cookies and colorful.
