This is a nice old raised neck knife or scraper. It's difficult to know for sure what the maker's application was. It's plenty sharp with a good solid hardwood handle that has a brass furrule on it. The furrule is a bit loose, but the knife is tightly fit to the handle. There is some rust pitting on the steel, but the cutting edge area is plenty clean enough to hold a very good cutting edge. The steel is about 1/8" thick at it's widest point. An interesting special purpose tool!
