This is a nice clean, 4" firm-joint Hermaphrodite caliper marked "L.S. STARRETT CO. ATHOL MASS. U.S.A.". It's in very good working condition. Appearance is good with no rust or pitting, some minor discoloration, a name scribed on the back side noted. This is a pre-1909 manufactured caliper, all tools marked with "THE" in front of the Starrett name were made after 1909. This one features the adjustable firm-joint, and scriber depth adjustment, in very good working condition. A good investment, since these are so hard to find!
