Vintage Lion cookie Jar Belmont Pottery USA Ladowici Caledon 1940s. This cookie jar is marked on the bottom and very hard to read, as seen in pictures. Most of these are is very hard to read the mark on bottom. Circa 1940s. Height 11 1/2 inches X 7 inches X 8 inches. No chips no cracks very faint mild crazing from use, need to turn and look at a certain angle to see the faint crazing. There are some under the paint chips or flicks on the rim, these are from the making, since the glaze is over the chips. chipping happened when items were removed from the mold, when found under paint and glaze, these are not damage from use. There is minimal cold paint wear. It is in over all good shape. Cold paint was applied over the glaze and therefore washes off easily. Best to use just a damp cloth to clean no soap or cleaners.
