  • Miller Pressed Steel Padlock W/key

Great Expectations Antiques

Circa: 1920's-50's
Condition: Good+
Manufacturer: MILLER
This is a nice clean pressed steel padlock w/key. It is marked "MILLER" on the front, and "MADE IN U.S.A."on the back of the main body.  It is also marked "MASTER" on the key. The key opens the lock with a turn to the clockwise, and has a strong spring that pops the lock into the open position once the key is turned, automatic locking with key in or out. The lock and key are both in good+ condition with no rust, some minor paint/Japanning loss on the main body, and the brass plate on the front is stained or tarnished. The lock measures 2.75" high x 1.85" wide and .52" thick.  The shackle diameter is .25" and is made of brass or brass plated steel.  A nice early padlock from about 100 years ago, in the hard to find small size!  Pressed steel locks are very sturdy, some were made of brass, this one is made of steel.  It is the 2 piece main body that was shaped in a stamping press, thereby called pressed steel.   A nice lock overall!
