Great Expectations Antiques

Circa: 1940-50's
Condition: Good+
Manufacturer: Fulton
Offering this very nice, clean No. 3 size (9" long) (smooth bottom) smooth plane retaining about 50% of it's original paint, this plane is in very good working condition with nice solid hardwood stained handle and front knob, each with a clear lacquer finish. The tote or handle has some scratches, mostly in the thick lacquer finish, but is solid, and not cracked, still functional. The tote also has a good bit of the original FULTON label on one side. The knob is nice, with more of the clear finish worn off, but less scratches, very solid. This plane cutter iron is 1.75" wide, and marked "FULTON MADE IN U.S.A." on the cutter. There is no cracks in the metal castings, little wear or a few edge dings, minor scratches, and a few small areas with very minor pitting on the bottom. The bottom is clean, flat and smooth, some minor staining noted on the bottom mostly, no rust, very clean, little sign of use. There is plenty of length on the sharp cutter, and all the adjustments work smoothly. This 1940's era model, features a press formed steel frog, very sturdy, and both cutter depth adjustment, and lateral adjustment, a very nice cap cover design! The quality of this plane is comparable to Sargent or Stanley, made to last a life time and then some! A very nice smooth plane, well preserved, and in very good working order!
