Great Expectations Antiques

Circa: mid-1900's
Condition: Very Good
This is hard to find late mid-1900's era, spiral type push drill with a full set of new 8 drill points, that store in the bullet shaped handle! It has the special 8 compartment storage handle that is made of metal and the red is heavy plastic, and in very nice condition. It is marked "MILLERS FALLS CO. MILLERS FALLS MASS. U.S.A. NO. 100". Each size of different drill points is also marked on the top polish metal ring near the end of the handle, to help keep the drill points in there corresponding compartment. The red part can be released and rotates to allow the loading or removing or the drill points through one hole. This works fine though turning the red section is a little bit snug since the red plastic has shrunk in size a small amount as you can see it's a small fraction shorter than original between the metal section. Turning the handle section being tight is not from abuse but due to the nature of the material used and the design of the assembly. This tool is fully useable and looks nice too. The metal is all nicely polished surfaces are very nice looking bullet like shape. The chuck is different than the North Brothers Yankee chucks, so the drill points have a + shape at the end instead of a notch and flat like the Yankee's. In this case, I am including a nearly new old stock full set of drill points with this drill, only 2 look like they may have been lightly used, and are the fluted type, in 8 different sizes from 1/16" to 11/64". The chuck and spiral are both in very good condition, and work smoothly. Overall this push drill and points are in very good to new condition, there is very little very minor wear to report, almost as if it was never used. A very nice tool overall.
