Victorian hatpin. Stunning hatpin featuring a purple glass stone that is likely an amethyst. It has an elegant gold metal filigree surround, and a very long stem. It measures 12 long, and the top piece is about 2.5 x 2. The metal is still quite bright so I am wondering if this is 10k gold, except I cannot find any stamp marks on it. The stone has a chip on it, but this is not really noticeable unless trying to see it. This hatpin is quite stunning displayed in a vintage hatpin holder, or you could actually use it! The queen of your hatpin collection! Most of the hatpins being sold are from the licquidation of two antique dealers estates in Bloomf. Hills, MI at a Boos Gallery auction. Frank Boos; was one of the original appraisers who used to be on the 'Antiques Roadshow'. Add some flair to your KY derby hat!
