Heisey produced the graceful and elegant Empress pattern, #1401 from 1932 to 1934. The stunning Alexandrite color has a lavender/pink tone, but changes color according to the light source. It can also appear as deep lavender, blue or blue green. It is not a common color and was expensive to produce in it's day, so it had a short production run. This lovely cup and saucer measure 6 1/2" wide for the saucer and 2 5/8" high and 3 7/8" wide for the cup. The Heisey mark is faint on the saucer and I could not find the mark on the cup.

Both cup and saucer are in excellent condition, no chips, cracks or discolorations. There are a few surface scratches.
